To make Christmas a bit brighter, San Damiano Retreat is opening up its doors to victims of the Camp Fire. From December 20-26, San Damiano will provide housing to individuals and families (between 100 and 125 adults and children) at no cost.
There are 70 bedrooms with private bathrooms, Wifi is available throughout the retreat center, and washing machines will be accessible. Families, couples, and individuals can arrive after 10:00 a.m. on the 20 and depart by 10:00 a.m. on the 26, and can stay for 2, 3 or all 7 days. Three meals a day will be served buffet-style in the dining room.
San Damiano staff and their families will help prepare meals and offer support to guests over the 7 days. Local volunteers have also offered to help out the kitchen staff with meal preparation and service in the dining room. Fun activities are planned that include movies, crafts, games, caroling, and storytelling for the children.
